What Caused Bunions

You may develop bunions if the following conditions occur:

The shape of the foot can put too much pressure on the big toe joint. Because bunions can run in the family, some experts believe that the genetic shape of the foot makes some people more susceptible.

Roll your feet inwards too much while walking. Moderate inversion or pronation is normal. But excessive internal rotation may cause injury and damage.

Your feet are flat.

You often wear shoes that are too tight.

All of this can put pressure on the big toe joint. Over time, constant pressure will force the big toe out of alignment, causing the big toe to bend towards the other toes.
